This class explores how to debate the role engineering plays in society. Students will acquire basic principles of argumentation and persuasive communication as well as encounter persuasive texts about science and engineering. Analysis of texts and practices together with case studies form the basis for students’ weekly assignments. Students will have in-class debates about such topics as the future of biotechnology, genetic engineering, climate control, AI, & social media. For questions contact Professor Bernhardt L.
