By Monday morning, the site, http://web.mit.edu/cms/reconstructions, had launched with more than one hundred essays [about immediate reactions to 9/11], including summaries of media coverage in some twenty countries or regions. Many of the students and some of the faculty found they were unable to complete projects they had started, but the efforts had drawn the community together, and the process of producing the site had enormous educational payoffs for everyone involved.
