Graduate Communication Survey 2023

The Graduate Communication survey was conducted by the Writing and Communication Center and the English Language Program during January and February 2023 to assess MIT graduate students’ current needs for support and training in oral and written communication skills and proficiency in English language and academic norms.

The survey addresses:

1. The challenges students face in crafting and performing communication tasks
2. How students’ needs vary across demographic groups, program stages, and disciplines
3. Strategies students use to overcome the challenges they encounter.
